Mechanically Polished Concrete (MPC)
Premium 15-Step Architectural Diamond Polishing
This is our top-tier finish for those who want a beautiful floor that is built to last. We don’t just put a coating on top; we use a process that strengthens the concrete from within, making it tougher and much easier to clean.
Customise Your Finish
No two concrete slabs are the same. We work with the natural character of your floor to create a finish that fits your style and your lifestyle.
The Best Canvas: Custom Mixes & Custom Stones
The absolute best architectural results are achieved on a new pour using custom decorative concrete mixes. Ordering a premium mix allows you to select your exact stone colours (such as quartz, granite, or marble shards) and choose custom base oxides to match your interior design. For a high-end MPC finish, we strongly recommend a dense 32 MPa or 40 MPa decorative mix specifically optimized for machine refinement.
Although some old slabs are suitable for polishing, older concrete is highly unpredictable. Existing slabs often feature random aggregate layout depths, hidden structural patches, cracks, or old adhesive stains that will directly alter the final look.
Exposure Level
The exposure is how much of the stones (aggregate) inside the concrete we reveal during the grinding process.
• Salt & Pepper: A light grind that reveals the cream of the concrete with just a sprinkling of small stones and sand showing through.
• Random Exposure: A middle-ground look with a random mix of heavy stone to light stone and smooth concrete.
• Heavy Exposure: A deep grind that reveals the maximum amount of stone.
Gloss level
The level of gloss comes down to what you like, your personal style, and how the concrete itself behaves. Every slab is unique; its structural hardness and density dictate how deeply it can be refined.
• Reflective Polish (800 Grit): The entry point for true mechanical polishing. It delivers a highly reflective, glossy shine that begins to bounce light and room shapes across the floor layout while remaining durable and easy to maintain day-to-day.
• Showroom High Gloss (1500 to 3000 Grit): The premium, top-tier finish for maximum architectural impact. This option requires a dense, well-cured slab to achieve a dramatic, glass-like showroom look with striking, deep mirror reflections that bounce light all the way through the home.
Concrete/MPC Guidelines/Slab Quality
To achieve a genuine, investment-grade mechanical polish, a concrete slab must hit strict trade specs and standards. Unfortunately, too many new operators try to mechanically polish every single floor they walk onto just to chase a dollar.
Furthermore, because Mechanically Polished Concrete (MPC) leaves the pores open and breathable, it cannot handle harsh or wet environments. We do not recommend it for garages, outdoor spaces, laundries, or commercial food zones. Engine oil, laundry liquids, wine, cooking oils, and food acids will stain it, and weather or ponding water will actively eat away the bare concrete surface.
For soft, under-specified, or high-spill slabs, a Grind & Seal or a heavy-duty Epoxy Flooring system is a better choice.
⚠️ Planning a New Concrete Pour?
Do not pour a standard driveway mix if you want a high-end MPC finish.[Mandatory MPC Guidelines & Pre-Pour Specs].
