A Burnished Finish is the ultimate choice for those who want a sleek, modern floor with zero aggregate (stone) exposure. Unlike other methods that grind away the top layer, burnishing works with the “cream” of the concrete to create a dense, smooth, and lustrous surface that celebrates the raw character of the slab.

What Makes it Unique?

•Zero Stone Exposure: We don’t grind the surface. The finish is achieved by high-speed mechanical trowelling (burnishing) that closes the pores and “burns” a natural glow into the concrete.

•Smokey, Mottled Aesthetic: Expect a beautiful, non-uniform appearance with “ghosting” effects and subtle color variations that give the floor an artistic, marbleized feel.

Critical Requirements:

Because we are not grinding the floor to fix mistakes, the quality of the finish depends entirely on the initial pour:

The Slab Must Be Perfect: The Slab Must Be Perfect: It must be poured flat and trowelled impeccably by your concreter. Any footprints, screed marks, or dips left during the pour will be visible in the final result.

Timing is Everything: Burnishing is a “hand-made” finish. Inconsistencies in the concrete mix or the weather on the day of the pour will reflect in the floor’s final “smokey” character.

Sealing for Life: We finish the floor with high-quality penetrating or guard sealers to protect that natural lustre from stains and dusting.
