Mechanically Polished Concrete

Premium 15-Step Architectural Diamond Polishing

This is our top-tier finish for those who want a beautiful floor that is built to last. We don’t just put a coating on top; we use a process that strengthens the concrete from within, making it tougher and much easier to clean.

Customise Your Finish

No two concrete slabs are the same. We work with the natural character of your floor to create a finish that fits your style and your lifestyle.

Exposure Level

The “exposure” is how much of the stones (aggregate) inside the concrete we reveal during the grinding process.
• Salt & Pepper: A light grind that reveals the “cream” of the concrete with just a sprinkling of small stones and sand showing through.
• Random Exposure: A middle-ground look with a random mix of heavy stone to light stone and smooth concrete.
• Full Exposure: A deep grind that reveals the maximum amount of stone for a high-end, “terrazzo” look.

Gloss level

The level of gloss comes down to what you like, your personal style, and how the concrete itself behaves. Every slab is unique; its structural hardness and density dictate how deeply it can be refined.

• Low Gloss: A highly popular choice. This finish delivers a soft, subtle sheen that keeps a clean, natural appearance. It reflects ambient light beautifully to brighten up your space, while remaining incredibly forgiving and easy to live with day-to-day.

• High Gloss: Another incredibly popular choice for those wanting maximum impact. This option requires a dense, well-cured slab to achieve a dramatic, glass-like showroom finish with striking, deep mirror reflections that bounce light all the way through the room.

Your Slab’s Character

The final look of your floor depends on age, mix design and how the concrete was poured and finished.

Things that affect the finish,

  • Mix Design: The strength and composition of the concrete dictate how it polishes. Low-strength mixes remain soft and porous, while a premium 32MPa mix allows for a dense, glass-like mechanical finish.
  • High and Low Spots: If the slab isn’t perfectly flat, our machines will hit the “high spots” harder. This means you might see more stone in some areas and less in others, giving the floor a unique, artistic look.
  • Previous Stains: If the slab has old oil, paint, or glue marks, these can sometimes leave “ghosting” or shadows in the concrete. We grind as much as possible, but some deep marks become part of the floor’s history.
  • Small Cracks: Concrete naturally moves and cracks over time. We can fill these, but they can remain visible as “character lines” that show the raw, industrial soul of the material.
