Premium Polished Concrete
Premium Polished Concrete
This is our top-tier finish for those who want a beautiful floor that is built to last. We don’t just put a coating on top; we use a process that strengthens the concrete from within, making it tougher and much easier to clean.
Customise Your Finish
No two concrete slabs are the same. We work with the natural character of your floor to create a finish that fits your style and your lifestyle.
Step 2: Exposure Level
The “exposure” is how much of the stones (aggregate) inside the concrete we reveal during the grinding process.
Salt & Pepper: A light grind that reveals the “cream” of the concrete with just a sprinkling of small stones and sand showing through.
Random Exposure: A middle-ground look with a random, mix of heavy stone to light stome and smooth concrete.
Full Exposure: A deep grind that reveals the maximum amount of stone for a high-end, “terrazzo” look.
Step 2: Choose Your Shine & Protection
We offer three levels of finish, each designed to protect your floor from the inside out.
Matte: (The Natural Look): A flat, “dry” finish with no shine. It protects against spills while keeping the raw, industrial look of the concrete. It’s the best at hiding dust and footprints.
Semi-gloss: (The Satin Glow): Our most popular choice. It has a soft, velvety sheen that reflects light to brighten the room but is still very forgiving and easy to live with.
High-Gloss: (The Mirror Look): A glass-like, showroom finish with maximum light reflection. We use a specialized protector for this level to give you the best possible defence against stains.
Important: Your Slab’s Character
The final look of your floor depends mostly on how the concrete was originally poured and finished. If a slab isn’t “to spec,” it can change the end result.
Things that affect the finish:
High and Low Spots: If the slab isn’t perfectly flat, our machines will hit the “high spots” harder. This means you might see more stone in some areas and less in others, giving the floor a unique, artistic look.
Concrete Strength: Older or “softer” concrete is more porous. To get a great shine, we may need to use extra hardening treatments to toughen up the surface.
Previous Stains: If the slab has old oil, paint, or glue marks, these can sometimes leave “ghosting” or shadows in the concrete. We grind as much as possible, but some deep marks become part of the floor’s history.
Small Cracks: Concrete naturally moves and cracks over time. We can fill these, but they often remain visible as “character lines” that show the raw, industrial soul of the material.
The “Rustic” Result: If your slab wasn’t originally poured for polishing, it can still look amazing. We call this a Rustic Finish. Instead of a perfect factory look, you get a one-of-a-kind floor that shows the natural character and “honesty” of the concrete.
