Close-up of diamond grinding concrete floor preparation in an Ulladulla workshop.
Completed 150m2 whit and green flake epoxy floor in a large Ulladulla shed.
We recently took on a 150m² shed project in Ulladulla, but this job came with a backstory. The client had been shopping around and received several quotes from less experienced installers suggesting “budget” systems and shortcuts in the preparation phase.
At ProSand, we believe in doing it once and doing it right. Here’s why we were chosen for the job and why the “cheap” quotes would have led to a massive headache.
1. Preparation Over Paint
The “other guys” often suggest acid washing or simple pressure cleaning. On a 150m² slab, that is a recipe for disaster. We spent the first phase of this project on our industrial diamond grinders. This process:
    • Removes the “laitance” (that weak, dusty top layer of concrete).
    • Opens the pores of the slab so the epoxy can soak in and “bite.”
    • Levels out minor imperfections for a flatter, smoother finish.

2. Why Low-Quality Systems Fail
Many budget installers use thin-film water-based epoxies or DIY-grade kits. While they look okay for a week, they can’t handle “hot tyre pick-up” or the weight of heavy machinery in a shed of this size. By using a high-build industrial epoxy system, we ensure the floor is chemical-resistant and practically bulletproof.
3. The ProSand Difference
We don’t cut corners. This Ulladulla workshop now has a floor that isn’t just a colour change—it’s a structural upgrade. By investing in proper diamond grinding and professional-grade resins, the owner has saved thousands in future repairs and recoating costs.
